Nurturing Young Minds, Inspiring Bright Futures
Experience Description
Gifted Horizons: Imagination Lab is a week-long summer program explicitly created for Kindergarten to Second grade gifted and high-potential learners. Through an interdisciplinary approach rooted in inquiry-based learning, design thinking, and the Depth & Complexity framework, students explore essential questions and solve real-world challenges. At the same time, they develop emotional insight and resilience through activities that promote self-reflection, peer collaboration, and identity exploration. Research supports that gifted learners benefit most when they are presented with content that is both intellectually challenging and emotionally supportive (Neihart et al., 2016; SENG, 2024; Kaplan, 2005). Students thrive in environments in which they are not bored. In some situations, behaviors are present when challenges are not part of their education.
